May 23rd 2018 - The Quad Cities Ballet Folklorico were invited to perform at the Quad Cities Dance Festival on May 20th, which was hosted by the Quad City Motion Dance Company. This unique event showcased a variety of different dance styles that included hip/hop, jazz, belly dancing, ballroom dancing, and ballet. The show took place on the 3rd level at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, IA.
The Quad City Motion Dance Company was in full effect as many of their students were involved in the show. ReFlex was also in attendance as they performed a couple of routines, as well as host a workshop earlier in the day. The Deck Girls of the QC Mallards also participated in the event by performing a couple of dances.
There were also multiple ethnic dance groups including belly dancing, dances from India, and traditional dances from Mexico. The QCBF were happy to participate in this great event.
The QCBF was then given the opportunity to perform at the Denkmann Elementary School in Rock Island, IL for their Fine Arts and Multicultural event on May 21st. They were honored to follow the Glenview Middle School Mariachi Band that have been doing a terrific job sharing the Mexican culture through music.
